Sharow Church of England School
Sharow Church of England School in the outskirts of Ripon, North Yorkshire, is a fantastic and fun learning environment.
This site was a collaborative effort, with Ant Barker leading the design. I was involved in a consultant capacity with both the school and Ant in the preliminary stages of the project and, once the design had been signed off, built the website in its entirety.
The site features a calendar, gallery and news feed that the school maintain themselves. They are also able to upload documents for parents of the pupils to download or print.
Developing a website to reflect our uniqueness as a school initially seemed a daunting prospect. Martin took the time to understand our needs, never became frustrated with my ineptness with trying to understand CMS systems and made the whole process a breeze. A professional collaboration throughout led to a fantastic website where pictures influence attitudes and the words direct opinion. Pyrenees Gites for Couples
This website is where a small business in the south of France showcases their gites, or holiday cottages, and provides a great resource for holidaymakers in the area.
The site is able to be updated via a Content Management System as can the bookings calendar, which means the client can control everything themselves without having to come back to me for amendments.
There are several slideshow banners to showcase the holiday cottages and a detailed bookings form with terms and conditions built in and there are several areas of the site that update with a randomly selected testimonials or quotes each time a page is loaded.

Cat Johnson Make Up Artist
Cat Johnson is a professional Make Up artist who specialises in weddings and also provides services for editorial, fashion, and much more.
The site is fully Content Management System (CMS) driven, meaning Cat can alter and update her own content. It features stylish lightbox galleries to showcase Cat's work and a Resources section for make up hints, tips, and more.
The site is clean and crisp, with a refined edge, and showcases Cat's talent beautifully.
When I first met Martin and spoke about my website ideas he put me totally at ease and understood my vision for the site and came up with some great ideas. YogaDoodz
YogaDoodz is a friendly and informal yoga collective in Newcastle Upon Tyne. They use yoga and group discussion as a tool to deal with the stresses of modern living.
This site was built around the client's logo and contains a custom Content Management System, which allows them to update classes and other information when they want, without having to come back through me.
As social interaction is central to the YogaDoodz philosophy, the site contains links the YogaDoodz Facebook and Twitter feeds as well as their blog.
I contacted Martin through his website and he responded straight away. We talked on the phone where he asked me a series of questions about my business and how I envisioned the site to be and I knew by the end of the conversation that I was on to a good thing! Steph Black Ceramic Artist
Steph Black is a talented and well established ceramic artist based in Harrogate, North Yorkshire.
I rebuilt Steph's already stylish-looking website from the ground up, condensing the navigation and rearranging some of the layout. The site now complies with current internet standards and accessibility and is search engine friendly. The gallery on the homepage was remade using jQuery and Javascript, as well as HTML and CSS, which are fully cross browser and device compatible, rather than the original, which was made using Flash.
The content of the site is driven by a custom made Content Management System, so that Steph can update the site whenever she wants!

Jory is a passionate personal trainer based in the Harrogate area, with a wealth of knowledge, experience and expertise.
This was a complete design project: from the name of the business and the logo, to Jory's business stationery and the site itself; it's a deceptively simple website with a pop-up contact form and members' sign-in area.

I was commissioned to revitalise their branding with a new logo that conveyed the commpany's values. I also produced letterheads and business cards to tie in with the new brand.

LT Tax Services
An accountants based near York, LT Tax Services offer a very personal approach to your tax accountancy needs.
This is another from-the-ground-up site, with the client requiring a logo and branding as well as a website.
As well as an introduction to the company and a breakdown of the services offered, the site also contains an FAQ section, giving information on tax returns, payments, allowances, rates and categories. These pages also have a dedicated style sheet, optimising them for printing.
Martin designed and implemented my website and also my logo and "brand". I was extremely impressed with the results. Martin took full responsibility for the project, researching similar businesses to ensure that my website is competitive, and coming up with original and inventive ideas. His work is professional and to a very high standard, and Martin is approachable and easy to work with.
